WESLEY LEE LENTZ
1924-2011
Wesley Lentz was third and last to be born to William and Verda Lentz in Salem, Oregon. He grew up in Grand Ronde, Oregon and attended Willamina High School where he met his wife of 67 years, Betty Close. They were married in 1944. Wes and Betty had three children: Stanley Kent 1947, Marsha Kay 1949, Debra Anne 1955.
Wes served three years in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was attached to the Armored Tank Division and later the 15th Army Headquarters in the European Theatre.
After the war, he attended Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon and Northwestern College of Law in Portland, Oregon. Between College and Law School he was an Oregon State Policeman for two years. He was a Real Estate Broker for 51 years.
Wes was a member of the Portland Royal Rosarians for several years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing off the Oregon Coast at Florence and traveling around the United States in their motor home.
Wesley served as an Oregon State Policeman for three years. Then, he became a real estate broker for 51 years.
Wesley died in 2011 87 years old.. A few years later in 2018, Betty also died at 92 years old.
They were married for 67 years.
Wesley and Betty were buried and share the same headstone in Willamette National Cemetery.
