LADONA IRIS LENTZ 1929-2016

Ladona was born to Alma and Karl Lentz. Her mother’s sister married her father’s brother, so the families were especially close. Her childhood was spent with her cousins during the summers and all the holidays.

Ladona graduated from high school, and then college. Henry was studying at Oregon College of Education when he met Ladona. They were married in 1950 in his home State of South Dakota, but made their home in Oregon.

 Within a year, their son was born, Steven Philip, on January 5, 1951.

Ladona’s love for teaching was her whole life. In 1953, Ladona was teaching at Mills School in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

Henry and Ladona’s marriage was rough, and even though they really tried to make a go at it, the marriage was ended in 1963.

 Ladona moved to California where she was still teaching. In 1969, her son, Steven graduated from high school there in Beverly Hills.

Ladona continued to teach, and was married to Denson Wheelis who was a physician and surgeon. They lived in Beverly Hills.

In 1979, Ladona’s mother passed away.  A few short years later in 1982, her husband, Denson passed away. Ladona eventually went back to Oregon where she died on February 13, 2016 in Portland, Oregon at 87 years old.
