Little is known about Gordon except that he died of pneumonia. No record can be found in the state archives regarding either his birth nor death. Wallace can remember sitting by his cradle and watching out the window when his mother rode Roxie out of the yard. Nothing more.

Gordon, too never had a monument but only a metal marker. He was buried in the Arch-Russell plot. Today as we set this marker in place, we are reminded of the generosity of Arch Russell and his family. In those days, Homer Russell had no resources, but his brother, Arch made provision.

 

In the years to come, family who view this plot may never realize the compassion and loving which brought two families to the same site. But today, we want to recognize that Arch & Cora’s love has extended far beyond their earth bound lives and continues to this day.
