Edith Amelia Lybecker

1891-1969

 

Edith was born to Ella & Oscar Lybecker in 1891 in Washington where she grew up on the farm. Her parents were determined that their children would have an education and Edith was able finish two years of college.

 

According to the 1910 federal census, she was already teaching at the country school at eighteen years old and continued teaching until she after married.

  

Edith met and married Ernest Archie Mosier in 1916. Edith was twenty-four years old and Dan was twenty years old. Ernest was working in general merchandising. The WW1 broke out and Ernest was in the ar my in France 1917-1919. In 1919, their son, Jack Melvin Mosier, was born. 

 

After Jack was born, they moved to West Point, Idaho. Dan worked in a farm for a while as a farm laborer. Edith stayed home with her baby. Ernest then worked as a wholesale stamp clerk at the United States Post Office.

​

 

In the 1940 federal census, their son Jack, was in his third year of college. He became the first Neurologist in New Mexico.

 

Edith taught school for many years in the Boise, Idaho School System and received a commendation on January 12, 1953.

 

In 1967, Edith died at seventy-six years old in Long Beach, California. Ernest died later in 1989 at ninety years old in Idaho.
